The TBF members have spoken and TBF has
listened. One-Stop Renewals for BOTH TBF
and FLW Outdoors.
There are two ways to do so. Both
include more benefits and more
simplicity. “It Pays To Belong To TBF!”
As most of you are already aware, every
state federation, by vote of the state
presidents’ council, agreed to maintain
as close to 100% DUAL TBF and FLW
Outdoors membership as possible in their
states. All of the other FLW Outdoors
members in the nation who are NOT
TBF members, are already paying a $35
FLW Outdoors membership. TBF members
have had the benefit of only paying $25
in years past for the same benefit. On
January 1, 2010 that limited time offer
expires and the membership dues for FLW
Outdoors will equalize at $35 for all
members. TBF national dues will of
course stay the same, as they always
have been, at $15.
1. TBF Regular 1-year membership.
Many members have voiced frustration in
the past on the challenges of trying to
remember when to update TBF and FLW
Outdoors membership, at what levels and
where and when, etc. Many have also
been asking for a way to update BOTH
their $15 TBF dues and their FLW
Outdoors dues all at once. We now have
that with no more hassle, no more
multiple membership renewals. Finally,
one-stop renewing for both TBF & FLW
Outdoors membership, right through your
home club, through the TBF Online Roster
Management System that every club has
access to and should be using to update
each year!
If you are a regular TBF Member, all
future FLW memberships will be updated
through your club using the TBF National
Online Roster Management system. When
clubs update their club roster each year
to submit each member’s $15 National TBF
dues, they will also update every single
member’s FLW membership each year on the
very same invoice. (Unless you are a TBF
Premium member…See item #2 below)
Simple, easy and no more worry!
This means, if you are a TBF member, FLW
Outdoors will not accept payment for
your FLW dues. It MUST be paid through
your club using the TBF Online Roster
Management System.
Through the TBF Online Roster system, if
you are currently a TBF member that is
only an FLW Outdoors ‘subscriber’
member, (magazine only) then you will be
charged the $20 difference between the
$15 FLW Outdoors subscriber level and
the full $35 FLW Outdoors dues when you
update with your club roster. If you are
already active with FLW Outdoors for
multiple years, our system will not
charge you. If you are one of the few
FLW Outdoors life members from years
back, our system will not charge you. If
you have a problem, just call the
national office at 580.765.9031
2. TBF Premium Membership
TBF has come up with 2, 3 & 5 year,
value-added memberships that the members
have been asking for and you can do it
on a purely optional basis. It also
makes it easier for members who
won’t have to renew their memberships
every year. TBF Premium members include
BOTH the $15 TBF dues and the $35 FLW
Outdoors for every year of the premium
membership, as well as many more
benefits. The basic premise of premium
level memberships is, if they will use
the benefits attached to the premium
levels, they will actually save time and
money, and TBF is willing to
guarantee that or your money back. TBF
Premium members can enjoy deep discounts
in the new TBF Online Store (opening Nov
1) and numerous vendors using the
‘Access Member’ card.
Now that dual membership is as easy as
joining your club, here is another
CHOICE for you.
What do you do with all of your old FLW
Outdoors Magazines after you have read
them?
Are you like most of us and simply put
them in a stack to collect dust? Or
maybe you throw it in the trash after
you’ve read it or keep them in a box,
just in case? Maybe you donate them to a
group home so others can enjoy them.
Maybe you would like to “store” them to
look over later but don’t really have
the space or a place to keep them.
Well, beginning in 2010, you have
another option. When renewing your FLW
membership through the TBF Online Roster
Management System, your club
administrator, who manages your rosters
online, will now have the choice of how
you would like to receive your FLW
Outdoors Magazine - Printed or
Electronic!
It’s your choice.
The system will DEFAULT to electronic so
if
you would prefer to still receive a
printed copy in the mail that’s fine, no
problem! We are happy to do that, just
make sure whoever is updating your club
rosters knows your wishes and marks that
you want a hard copy magazine.
Or if you would like to get your
magazine delivered right to your
computer we can do that too!
If you want a printed version, you have
your own good reasons why that is an
advantage to you. Maybe you pass it
along to a group home or to a youth
program when you’re done with it…for the
rest, here are a few advantages of
receiving it electronically.
Get news faster…and world wide!
Now you don’t have to wait on snail mail
to get your FLW Outdoors Magazine.
You’ll get the exact same thing, just by
email instead, instantly!
GO GREEN!
One of TBF core values is conservation.
By choosing the electronic version, you
get the same info, but without the
paper. If there’s something you want to
save you can always just print that one
page. Save paper, save trees! Green is
“In.” Now your old issues don’t end up
in landfills or collect dust on your
tables! But they are saved safely on
your computer!
Easily Accessible
– FLW Outdoors electronic version will
be available on FLWOutdoors.com 24/7 or
you can save the *pdf file to your
computer. Print out only one page if you
want to, put it on your laptop and take
it with you or look back on old issues
any time. Now you don’t have to tear
your house upside down, or worry that
someone threw it away!
What this means for club
presidents/secretaries
- when updating your club roster, there
will be an option for each member to
choose which choice they would like to
receive. IT WILL DEFAULT TO ELECTRONIC.
FLW will be notified by TBF, which you
request, and they will start receiving
FLW Outdoors Magazine the way they would
like it.
